About me
Hi, I'm Femke. I grew up in the Netherlands, but now live in rural Cambridgeshire with my husband, two children and chickens.
Growing up I have had some amazing artist role models over the years, and being encouraged by my art teachers, I decided to go to Art School, where my love for printmaking, photography, and filmmaking got a real boost. I then worked in film for a while and studied for a Cinematography degree, but since having children I really felt like I needed something for myself again. I did several printmaking workshops to brush up my printmaking skills, and haven't stopped since.
During the Coronavirus lockdown a neighbour offered me his old shed, and with lots of second hand materials I collected from here and there, I managed (with a bit of help from my husband) to build my own art studio at the bottom of my garden. A life long dream come true!
I now run art evenings and print workshops from my studio. I love to enable other people to experience the joy of creating something and surprising yourself. Please get in touch if you would like to book in for a workshop, if you have any questions, or if you would just like to say hi!
